Talking to Yourself
And our focus on possibilities involves self-talk. How do you talk to yourself? Are you constantly focusing on the negative? Be aware and be careful because thoughts shape our words and our actions. Are you telling yourself why something wonât work? Are you constantly beating yourself up? Or are you building yourself up? Are you speaking life and positivity? You need to be able to answer these questions because your attitude determines your altitude.
In the past, every time I fell into negative self-talk or found myself thinking negative thoughts, I stopped by Monterey Drive. Today, I look at a picture of my boys. They are my new Monterey Drive! They also remind me that everything we do and say will impact someone in some way. I know my children watch everything I do and say. I want to leave themâand everyone I meet or mentorâbetter than they were when I found them.
And that goal is a matter of personal development. You must grow you. When you grow, everything around you grows. As you grow yourself, your self-talk will improve. Youâll stop beating yourself up, and youâll start to realize all that you can do⦠no matter what life is trying to do to you.
